One day, the late Hodja was going to a village with his son.

He let his son ride the donkey. Some people saw them and said:

"Ah, look at today's youth! He's comfortably riding the donkey while making his poor old father walk. Shame!"

The boy said:

"See, Father? Didn't I insist? Please don't be stubborn anymore — you get on the donkey."

So the Hodja got on the donkey instead. They went on a little further and came across some others who said:

"Well, just look at that! An old man like you should know better. You've lived your life, you're nearing the end — and yet you make this young, fresh boy walk in this heat?"

The Hodja then took his son and seated him behind him on the donkey. They hadn't gone far when they encountered another group of people. These ones remarked:

"Such cruelty! Two people riding one poor donkey on such a long road? And this man is supposed to be a scholar!"

Now the Hodja, annoyed, got off the donkey and had his son get off too. They started walking, leading the donkey in front of them. It wasn't long before they met a few more people who said:

"Good heavens! What foolishness is this? The donkey walks freely, hopping and skipping, while these two poor souls walk behind it in the heat, covered in dust and sweat. How absurd!"

After hearing all this, the Hodja turned to his son and said:

"Listen, my son. If there’s anyone who can escape the tongue of the people, more power to him! No matter what you do, you can never please everyone. Just try to please Allah, that's what truly matters."

NASRETTİN HOCA-KAZAN DOĞURDU

ABDULLAH EMİR-ŞEHİT AHMET ÖZSOY İHO Nasrettin Hoca, bir gün komşusundan bir kazan istemiş. İki gün sonra, kazanın içine bir tencere koymuş ve komşusunun evine gitmiş. Komşusuna, "Kazan için çok teşekkür ederim. Kazanını getirdim." demiş. Komşusu, "Bu kazan benim kazanım ama bu tencereyi niçin getirdin?" diye sormuş. Nasrettin Hoca, "Senin kazanın hamileymiş. Bizim evde doğurdu." diye cevap vermiş. Komşusu çok sevinmiş. Bir ay sonra Hoca tekrar komşusundan kazan istemiş. Komşusu kazanı hemen vermiş. Çünkü "Hoca bana bir tencere daha verecek." diye düşünmüş. Günler, haftalar, aylar geçmiş ama Hoca kazanı geri götürmemiş. Komşusu merak edip Hoca’nın evine gitmiş. "Hocam, benim kazanıma ne oldu? Niçin geri vermiyorsun?" diye sormuş. Hoca, komşusuna üzgün üzgün bakmış ve "Başın sağ olsun. Senin kazanın öldü." demiş. Komşusu çok sinirlenmiş ve Hoca’ya "Hocam, sen ne söylüyorsun? Kazan ölür mü? Each of them asked him to buy a whistle, but none of them gave him any money. Hodja smiled and said: — All right, no problem. However, only one child took out some money and said: — Can you buy me a whistle with this money? In the evening, when Nasreddin Hodja returned from the market, the children quickly surrounded him and asked for their whistles. Nasreddin Hodja took a whistle out of his pocket and handed it to the child who had given him money. The others started shouting: — Where are our whistles? Nasreddin Hodja replied shortly and wisely: — The one who pays, plays the whistle.

One day, while returning from school, he saw an old man struggling to carry the bags in the corner of the park. He ran to him immediately. “Uncle, can I help you?” he asked.
